2007 SA ROSE Miss Ruth McKeown

Ruth is a first generation Australian. Both her parents moved to Adelaide from Belfast in 1972. An Irish Dancer since the age of 4, she has competed successfully at State and National levels. She is proud of her Irish Heritage and thinks St Patrick’s Day is the best day of the year! Ruth visited Ireland aged 4 and again in 2004 and had a fantastic time meeting her large Irish family. She couldn’t wait to return and spend more time there. Ruth took up a Podiatrist position at the Port Augusta Hospital. She regularly travelled with the Royal Flying Doctor Service to remote areas in outback South Australia to conduct clinics. She returned to Adelaide to be Senior Podiatrist at Flinders Medical Centre.

2006 SA ROSE - Miss Niamh O’Reilly

Niamh travelled to Ireland in August to represent South Australia in the International Rose of Tralee Quest to show the world her pride in her Irish heritage and to take on the role of ambassador for SA.
Niamh was a great hit in Ireland, with her bubbly personality and her strong ties to her Irish heritage, especially through her love of Irish music and dance.
Niamh met with the 29 other girls in Dublin before a whirlwind week of Gala functions and media appearances, culminating in the selection of the 2006 International Rose of Tralee.

2005 SA Rose of Tralee - Laura Nicole Watson

Originally Laura’s mother’s family are from county Meath and her father’s family are form Belfast. Laura was born in Dublin and migrated to Australia with her Mum, Dad and older brother when she was just 15 months old. All these years later, Laura is a proud Irish-Australian who always embraces both her home country’s cultures.

In 2004 Laura graduated from Flinders University with First Class Honours in Biotechnology. In her spare time Laura enjoys painting, photography, yoga, Irish dancing, and baseball. Laura is a keen traveller who loves experiencing new cultures and meeting new people, both from Australia and abroad. Having experienced an eclectic combination of cities and lifestyles, Laura is proud to call Adelaide home.
